Shirley began her jewellery career in 1979, learning her craft as an apprentice in the skills of handmaking jewellery and developing a love of gemstones through her study of Gemmology, earning a Diamond Diploma with the Gemmological Association of GB (Gem-A).

By 1987 Shirley was bubbling with new ideas for the style of jewellery she wanted to create and Shirley Paris Jewellery was born. Her delicate, flowing designs in gold and platinum quickly earned her a reputation as the go-to maker of unique bespoke jewellery in Central Scotland with diamonds and amazing, coloured gems central to these pieces. Shirley continues to bring colour to her pieces today with the use of teal sapphires, green tourmalines and pink rubellite cut in pear or oval shapes and set in complimentary sweeps and curves.

Her first Collection, Dawn ‘til Dusk, continued the in-house aesthetic. These intricate pendant and earrings in Sterling Silver and 9ct Gold earned her a Scottish Gift Award and were sold in shops throughout Scotland the UK. A collaboration with Ortak followed and vibrant coloured enamel was added to Shirley’s collections.

In 2010, Shirley opened the doors to her own retail space and workshop, allowing her to host her range of exquisite designer pieces, as well as create a beautiful space to meet with clients and manufacture their jewellery. Shirley’s team grew with the addition of her husband, Malcolm, and daughter Hannah.

Hannah learned all the skills in running our jewellery workshop and retail space, whilst developing her career as a goldsmith under the teachings of Shirley. Shortly after joining she began working with bespoke clients and evolved her own designs which paired perfectly with our renowned organic style. Keen to delve more into every aspect of the jewellery world, she received her Diploma in Jewellery Education Training in 2015.

Over the years, Shirley & Hannah have worked closely together on both customer commissions and in-stock collections for our discerning clients, whom have grown to love our individual style.
